Back to School

Olly recently went back to school on a trip to Scotland where he started a project working with a design and technology students basic design principles, practical 3D printing techniques, adventure equipment design and fundamentals of engineering.

Igniting Creativity

This programme of workshops will begin with an introduction to 3D printing and teaching students how to transform their digital designs into tangible products. The plan is then to share insights about how this technology is revolutionising the field of adaptive adventure equipment before letting students unleash their own creativity by designing and prototyping their own adaptive sports gear, fostering problem-solving skills and innovative thinking.

Designing for Inclusivity

One of the key focuses of ArcticFox's workshops is to instill the importance of designing for inclusivity. Students are guided through the process of considering the diverse needs and abilities of adaptive adventurers while developing their designs. They will learn about ergonomic considerations, lightweight materials, and the significance of user-centered design, ensuring that their creations catered to the unique requirements of adaptive athletes.

Engineering for Adventure

Engineering plays a crucial role in our workshops, as students delve into the principles of structural integrity, mechanics, and material science. They are encouraged to think critically and apply engineering concepts to their adaptive adventure equipment designs with guidance from Olly, our founder and design engineer students will explore how to best optimise functionality, durability and safety in their creations, setting the stage for real-world applications of their skills.
